What to expect at your Invisalign appointment:

  1. INVISALIGN CONSULTATION:

When you come in for a complimentary Invisalign® consultation, we will use our in-office iTero scanner, which allows us to take digital impressions of your teeth, eliminating the need for impressions requiring molding materials. The scan will be able to show us and you what your smile could look like with the treatment of Invisalign®. The digital records from the scan are complimentary to you and you will receive a copy via e-mail.

INVISALIGN RECIEVES YOUR ITERO SCAN RECORD:

  1. After the scan is taken, we send your digital record toInvisalign® where they will upload your file and then we will be able to give you a more detailed and accurate diagnosis on how long your treatment would take during a secondary appointment called a ClinCheck®.
  1. CLIN CHECK® APPOINTMENT:

During the ClinCheck®, which allows you to see a video simulation of your treatment, before and after, with one of our doctors present.(One of our treatment coordinators will speak with you one-on-one to go over the cost of Invisalign®, and any financial payment options available to you.

  1. AFTER TREATMENT:

Once you are issued your retainers and certificate, this is the ideal time to get any other improvements you’ve been wanting but could not have done while you were in your Invisalign® treatment. These procedures usually include: teeth whitening, night guard, crowns,

When you say Yes to Invisalign®, you are saying yes to you. Electing to straighten your teeth is beneficial in overall dental care and cosmetically. Children and adults are both candidates for improving their smile with Invisalign®, as long as your back molars have grown in.

HOW OFTEN ARE MY APPOINTMENTS?

Every 6 weeks once treatment begins you will need to come to the office to get a new set of trays.

WILL INVISALIGN TREATMENT BE PAINFUL?

Minimal pain can occur in the form of soreness from the teeth moving into a position they have not been before.

CAN I JUST WEAR THE ALIGNERS WHILE I SLEEP?

No, the aligners need 22 hours of wear a day for effective results.

WILL WEARING INVISALIGN ALIGNERS AFFECT MY SPEECH?

Minimally, only for the first week.

ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS AS TO WHAT I CAN EAT WHILE IN TREATMENT?

No, but trays must not be worn during any food consumption.

WILL SMOKING STAIN THE ALIGNERS?

Yes smoking will stain the aligners. We recommend not smoking during treatment to make sure your dental health remains at it’s best during treatment.

CAN I DRINK ALCOHOL WHEN WEARING MY ALIGNERS?

No, aligners must be removed before drinking any liquid other than water.

CAN I CHEW GUM WHILE WEARING ALIGNERS?

No, gum is not permitted while wearing your aligners.

HOW OFTEN MUST I WEAR MY ALIGNERS?

Aligners must be worn 22 hours to achieve results.

CAN THE ALIGNERS SLIP OFF WHILE I’M ASLEEP?

No, the aligners fit securely to your teeth and do not slip off at any time unless you remove them yourself.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN MY ALIGNERS?

We offer products to help keep your aligners in good condition during wear. A sonic cleaner and Invisalign® tray wipes can be purchased at our office.

WILL I NEED TO WEAR A RETAINER AFTER TREATMENT TO PREVENT MY TEETH FROM MOVING AGAIN?

Yes, once treatment is completed you will be issued a set of clear retainers to keep your teeth in their alignment.

SINCE HAVING MY BRACES REMOVED, MY TEETH HAVE SHIFTED. CAN INVISALIGN® FIX THIS?

Yes, Invisalign® corrects minor to major teeth movements and shifts even if braces were worn before.

I CURRENTLY HAVE VENEERS. WILL INVISALIGN® ALIGNERS WORK WITH THEM?

Since Invisalign® aligners move the entire root and tooth, veneers and other dental work can be moved with the aligners too.

I CURRENTLY HAVE BRIDGEWORK ON SEVERAL TEETH. WILL INVISALIGN® STILL WORK?

Yes, the entire bridge will move as one piece as your teeth move to the desired position.

After ClinCheck is received by our office Invisalign, we will have a timeframe of how long your treawtment will take. Simple Cases, under 23 trays, in most cases will change trays weekly. Complex Cases, 24 trays and over, in most cases will switch trays weekly as well. The purchas of Acceledent, accelerated orthodontics, allows trays to be switched in as little as 3 days.
