Dental implants are made of titanium and are implanted into the mouth to function as an artificial tooth root. To these implants, a variety of restorations like CEREC crowns and even bridges and dentures can be attached, replacing one or more missing teeth.
If you are looking for a long-lasting way to replace missing teeth and prevent bone loss, implants from Consultants in Dental Aesthetics may be right for you. Contact us today for an appointment or don't hesitate to stop by the office located at 9700 Louetta Road, Spring, TX 77379.
Dental implants look and feel completely natural, and will never shift or move when you speak, eat, or chew. In addition, they require very little special care once placed, and your implants will likely last you for the rest of your life.
Additionally, they also stimulate the underlying jaw bone, unlike other restorations like bridges and dentures. This keeps the jaw bone healthy and prevents bone resorption, a common condition that causes the jaw bone beneath a missing tooth to weaken over time.
During your first appointment, Dr. Landry or Dr. Dela Cruz will numb your mouth and then create an opening in your gum and jaw tissue. Then, a single dental implant will be placed in this area, with its placement precisely guided by your implant treatment plan for the best results.
It will take about 1-2 weeks to heal and recover from your initial surgery. However, it takes up to 3-6 months or longer for your implant to fully heal and integrate with your jaw tissue in the process known as osseointegration. You will come into our office a few times during this time for checkups to ensure your recovery is on track.
During your follow-up appointments while you heal, the dental implant restoration process will begin. One of our doctors will take scans of your mouth and your implant and upload them into our CEREC machine to design the dental crown that will be attached to your implant at your last appointment.
Once your restoration is done and your mouth is fully healed, you will have an abutment placed onto your dental implant, and then the final restoration will be permanently attached to the implant. After your CEREC dental crown is placed, you’ll be sent home to enjoy your new smile.
It’s very simple to care for dental implants. All you need to do is treat them like natural teeth. Make sure you brush twice a day for two minutes and floss at least once per day, and do your best to maintain a tooth-healthy diet.
You should also come see us every six months for a teeth cleaning and oral exam so that we can ensure your natural teeth are in great shape and that your dental implant is still healthy and strong. We serve both Spring and Kohrville, Texas.
If you have lost one or more teeth but your mouth is healthy and your jaw bone is strong enough to support an implant, you are probably a good candidate for a dental implant. To learn more and discuss the specifics of your treatment and other options for restoring missing teeth, just contact your Spring, TX dentist for an implant consultation.
The cost of dental implants can vary depending on several factors, including the number of implants needed, the complexity of the case, and the location of the dental practice. On average, the cost of a single dental implant can range from $3,000 to $5,000. However, it's important to keep in mind that this is just an estimate, and the actual cost may vary. To get an accurate cost estimate for your specific case, it's best to schedule a consultation with a dental implant specialist who can evaluate your individual needs and provide you with a personalized treatment plan.
Dental implants are designed to be a long-term solution for missing teeth. With proper care and maintenance, dental implants can last a lifetime. The implant itself is made of a biocompatible material, usually titanium, which fuses with the jawbone to create a strong and durable foundation for the replacement tooth. The crown or prosthetic tooth attached to the implant is typically made of high-quality materials that are resistant to wear and tear. However, it's important to note that the longevity of dental implants also depends on factors such as oral hygiene practices, overall health, and lifestyle habits. Regular dental check-ups and proper oral care at home can help ensure the longevity of your dental implants.
While dental implants are primarily used to replace missing teeth and restore oral function, they can also have aesthetic benefits. When teeth are lost, the jawbone may start to deteriorate over time, leading to a sunken or aged appearance. Dental implants can help prevent this bone loss and maintain the natural shape of your face. By replacing missing teeth with dental implants, you can restore the support structure of your face, which can have a positive impact on your overall facial aesthetics. Additionally, dental implants provide stability and support for the surrounding teeth, preventing them from shifting or becoming misaligned, which can also contribute to a more youthful appearance.
The recovery time after getting dental implants can vary quite a bit depending on the individual case. Generally speaking, for a single dental implant, the recovery time is usually only a few days. Many patients are able to return to work and normal activities within 1-3 days after getting an implant placed. The area may be tender and mildly swollen for a short time, but major discomfort is rare.
For multiple implants, such as when a full arch of teeth is being replaced, the recovery time is longer. Placing 4-6 implants at once will require around 4-6 weeks for the implants to heal and integrate with the bone before artificial teeth can be attached. During this period, the gums also need time to mend after the surgery. Patients will need to stick to soft foods and avoid very hard chewing or biting during initial healing.
The recovery time also depends on if bone grafting is required before the implants can be placed. If extra procedures are needed to build up the jawbone first, an additional 2-3 months of healing may be necessary. Therefore recovery could extend to 6-8 weeks or longer when multiple implants or grafts are involved. Patience is required when allowing the implants to properly fuse with the jawbone before replacing teeth. But afterwards, dental implants are intended to last for many years once fully recovered from the initial surgery.
I have been a long time patient of Dr Landry's. Every service that I have from implants to teeth whitening and more is done with precision and care. Dr Landry never disappoints me. His staff is professional, yet, friendly and accommodating. Going to the dentist is no longer an unpleasant experience when you are in the competent hands of Consultants in Dental Aesthetics.
The service provided by CDA is beyond first class. I've never experienced anything even close to this when it comes to healthcare, let alone dentistry. I always liked the dentist growing up, but had a few negative experiences in the past. I actually had found a wonderful dentist a couple of yours ago, recentlyI came here because my husband had gone a few times and recommended the place. They genuinely do amazing work with their same day crowns and he got a night guard to help with grinding. I came recently because Dr. Delacruz is one of the best in Texas and he did both a route canal and an implant on me the same day! Not only is everyone that you interact with here beyond professional. They are very thorough and go the extra mile to communicate bbwhat they're doing from diagnostic to treatment. There are very thoughtful treats and ambiance that help put me more at ease as I'm prepped for procedures, which actually make a huge difference in keeping my BP and anxiety from going super high.
