Veneers are very thin dental prostheses, typically made of porcelain. They’re shaped like teeth and are designed to fit over the front surfaces of the teeth, covering them up to treat issues like stains, uneven teeth, minor chips, gapped teeth, and much more. With a set of veneers, you can transform your smile in just a few quick appointments at Consultants in Dental Aesthetics. Our office is located at 9700 Louetta Road, Spring, TX 77379. We proudly serve Spring and Kohrville.
Veneers look and feel completely natural, and they are very durable. Porcelain veneers are also completely impervious to stains, so they will always remain bright and beautiful. Veneers tend to have a lifespan of 10-15 years or longer with proper care, too.
Best of all, a new set of veneers can completely change how you feel about your smile and your appearance and provide you with the confidence you need to smile brightly in any situation. If you are not sure if you are a candidate, schedule a consultation today!
At your initial consultation, you’ll discuss your cosmetic dentistry issues with your dentist in Spring and they will determine if veneers are a good option for you. If you’re approved, you’ll set up your next appointment right away.
At your next appointment, your teeth receiving veneers will be prepared by one of our doctors. Then, digital impressions and images will be taken of the teeth, and this information will be used to design your veneers. You will be sent home wearing a set of temporary veneers to protect your teeth while your veneers are being crafted.
Your veneers will be masterfully crafted by a team of technicians at our partner dental lab, ensuring a perfect fit and a completely natural appearance. It usually takes about 2-3 weeks for your veneers to be completed and delivered to our office.
Once your veneers are completed and we have received them, you’ll come back for your seating appointment. Your doctor will check the fit of each veneer, then bond them into place permanently, completing your treatment.
One week after your veneers are bonded into place, we will invite you back to take photos and ensure all edges are smooth and that your soft tissue has returned to its healthy feel and appearance.
“My overall confidence in my smile has flourished. Dr. Landry did a wonderful job! I couldn’t be happier with my new smile!”

When it comes to your daily routine, your veneers can be treated just like natural teeth. Brush at least twice a day for two minutes and floss once a day to keep your teeth and veneers healthy. You also should see the dental team in Spring every six months for a professional cleaning and oral exam.
Veneers are a good choice if you have multiple cosmetic issues with your smile, but your smile is healthy and you don’t have any issues like gum disease or cavities. These types of oral health issues must be resolved before treatment.
You may not be a good candidate for veneers if you have major orthodontic problems, like a bad bite or severely crooked teeth. To find out if veneers are right for you, schedule an appointment with our team today!
Veneers are considerably more durable and long-lasting compared to other cosmetic treatments like dental bonding or teeth whitening. They are built to last for 10 to 15 years and with proper care, can last even longer.
Once your veneers have reached the upper limit of their lifespan, it’s time to have them replaced. However, we can discuss tips on how to care for your veneers so you can extend their longevity for as long as possible.
Firstly, you should know that veneers are not impervious to damage. Even though veneers provide additional strength and protection to your teeth, you will need to avoid sources of wear and tear so you don’t accidentally chip or crack your veneers.
Porcelain is extremely durable, but you should never use your teeth to chew on inanimate objects, to open things, or nervously chew on your nails.
Some conditions increase your risk for damaging veneers, including bruxism, having a misaligned bite, and thin enamel. You should have sufficient enamel to support the veneers, or the bonding agent could be compromised.
Try to focus on chewing with your rear molars instead of your front teeth which have veneers placed on them. Chewing forces can damage your veneers, especially when eating hard, crunchy, or sticky foods.
You’ll want to be careful when eating these foods, or avoid eating them altogether. Finally, practice good oral hygiene just like you would care for your natural teeth. This requires regular brushing, flossing, and dental cleanings.
No, veneers are not tooth replacements. They’re a cosmetic treatment used to improve the appearance of existing teeth by covering up any cosmetic imperfections like discoloration or chips by bonding a thin porcelain shell to the existing tooth’s enamel.
Without this existing tooth, there is nothing to anchor or stabilize the veneers. If you are looking to replace a missing tooth, we offer dental bridges, dentures, and dental implants. Tooth loss requires restorative treatment for replacement.
Veneers are only used for cosmetic purposes. If you’re looking for a cosmetic dentist near you, contact Consultants In Dental Aesthetics today to schedule a consultation.
Veneers are fabricated out of stain-resistant porcelain, which makes them considerably more resistant to discoloration and staining than your natural teeth. Veneers made out of composite resin are more susceptible to stains.
However, even if you have porcelain veneers, you should limit your exposure to stains through foods and drinks or tobacco products. This is because, over the long lifespan of your veneers, continuous exposure to stains can lead to discoloration.
Prevention is important because veneers cannot be whitened. If your veneers become discolored, the only way to change this is to have them replaced. A dental cleaning will be able to make a minimal improvement if the stains are only surface-level and minimal.
The greatest offenders of stains are foods and drinks that contain chromogens and tannins. These include coffee, red wine, tea, dark-colored sauces, and soda. If you are a smoker or chew tobacco, you should quit if you plan on getting veneers.
